Day 2 – in the morning we walked a route suggested in a guide book around Ypres. In the afternoon a buffet was supplied courtesy of the Patriotics – and was absolutely fantastic. In the evening, members of the Patriotics proudly laid wreaths at the Menin Gate. During the wait, a friendship was struck u[ with a Welsh choir who sang two moving pieces. At 8 the Bugles marked to occasion by the local fireman. They bugle every night and the notes rang out in perfect tune.
Had a fantastic evening and on arrival back to the hotel, a large group had engaged with the choir who were staying in the same hotel. Allegedly, much singing and drinking took part.
