The Royal Air Force Flight Engineer & Air Engineer Association held their 2025 AGM and Formal Dinner at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa from 17–19 October 2025. Here’s a summary of the event details:
Flight Engineer Function 2025 – Petwood Hotel
- Dates: Friday 17th to Sunday 19th October 2025
- Location: Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa
- Schedule:
- Friday 17th: Meet and Greet
- Saturday 18th: Planned group visit to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby
- Saturday Evening: Formal Dinner at the Petwood Hotel
- Significance: This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII, making the event especially meaningful
The Petwood Hotel itself is steeped in RAF history, having served as the Officers’ Mess for 617 Squadron (The Dambusters) during WWII. The venue includes the Squadron Bar, filled with memorabilia and tributes to RAF heroes like Guy Gibson VC and Leonard Cheshire VC.
The event was absolutely fantastic, meeting acquantances from the past and reliving our careers. A thoroughly well organised function, which included a presentation of the H.P. Halifax bomber during the Formal Dinner.
